In order to use Splitit there are a few requirements that must be met. Most importantly, the customer must be over 18, shopping with a Merchant who offers our service, and have a credit card with the full purchase amount available on it.
Debit cards, prepaid cards, and FSA/HSA cards cannot be used to create a new installment plan.

Here are a few additional details about using Splitit for your purchase:
- There is no requirement to fill out an application to use Splitit. A customer simply needs to enter their credit card details at checkout, and if approved, an installment plan is created.
- There is no credit check as the Splitit system does not involve a new loan.
- At checkout the system authorizes your credit card to confirm it is an accepted card brand and type (credit cards only) and that you have enough available balance (also known as credit limit) to cover the value of your purchase.
- If the system declines to create your plan you may be provided with a few details on why it was not successful.
- The Merchant you are purchasing from and the Splitit Support team can help you troubleshoot any plan creation issues. We will have more information in their systems as to why a plan was not successful.
- Because you are creating a plan with your credit card, your credit card Terms and Conditions always apply. Make sure you understand this information and the potential fees associated with using your credit card.
