If you made a purchase through Whop and want a refund or to cancel your installment plan, the request has to start with Whop — not Splitit. Here's exactly how it works, and what happens to your plan while it's being reviewed.
At a Glance
- Submit your request through Whop, not Splitit — Whop → Orders → Billing history → Request Refund.
- Whop and the merchant decide the outcome, including the amount. Expect a decision within ~7 days.
- Your installment payments keep going until Whop approves a change — Splitit can't pause them.
- If you're denied, use Whop's Appeal option on the case before contacting Splitit.
- Still denied? Let us know and we will review your case.
- Approved? Your Splitit plan updates automatically — no need to reach out.
Please note: this process must be followed to request a refund or cancellation of your Splitit installment plan.
How Whop and Splitit work together
Whop is the platform where you made your purchase. It helps Creators sell memberships, coaching, products, or services.
Splitit is the payment service that lets you pay over time with your existing credit card.
Here’s what that means:
Whop manages your purchase, refunds, and communication with the Creator/Store you purchased from.
Splitit manages your installment payments after your purchase is complete. However, we cannot adjust your payment plan until your refund/plan cancellation request is approved in the Whop portal.
Splitit wants to help you get this resolved as quickly as possible, and the fastest path is Whop's own process, since they're the only ones who can approve it.
How to request a refund
On a computer:
- Log in at https://whop.com/@me/settings/orders/ with the email you used at checkout.
- Go to Orders → Billing history and find the transaction.
- Click the ⋯ menu next to it and select Request Refund.
- Explain your reason, include the amount you're requesting, and attach any evidence (screenshots, emails, etc.) — the more detail, the better your chances.
Can't find your purchase? Search your email for "Whop order confirmation," click the Access [product] button in it, sign in with that same email, and follow the steps above.
If the merchant already agreed to a refund or cancellation
Even if the merchant has told you directly that they'll refund or cancel, that agreement only reaches your Splitit plan once they approve it inside Whop. Please ask them to confirm it there — it's the only way it actually updates your plan.
What happens after you submit
- The merchant typically has a couple of days to respond. If it's not resolved, Whop reviews it directly — Whop states you'll hear a decision within about a week in total.
- Whop will contact you directly, at your Whop email — not through Splitit.
- If your request is approved, your Splitit plan updates automatically. You don't need to do anything else or contact us.
- If your request is denied, Whop gives you the option to appeal. Open the denied case in your Resolution Center, look for Appeal or Request review, and submit any new details or evidence. Not every case qualifies for appeal, and approval isn't guaranteed — but if you believe the decision was wrong, this is the right next step. If you don't see an appeal option, contact Whop support and reference your case.
Your payments during the review
Your scheduled installment payments continue as normal while Whop reviews your request — we're not able to pause or defer them during this time. The refund amount, including whether payments you've already made are returned, is entirely the merchant's decision. Some merchants return everything collected so far; others don't, for example if it would exceed what they've agreed to refund.
If you've disputed the charge with your card issuer instead
If you've filed a dispute with your bank or card company rather than going through Whop, your plan is automatically paused — no changes can be made until the dispute is resolved. This can take significantly longer than Whop's own process, so submitting your request through Whop first is usually the faster path.
Checking the status of your request
Splitit doesn't receive updates on your Whop case, so we won't be able to tell you anything beyond what's in this article. For status:
- Check your case directly in Whop's Resolution Center.
- Contact Whop support: https://whop.com/chats/new or support@whop.com
Common questions
I sent my documents to Splitit. Is that enough?
No — your request needs to be submitted through Whop directly. Whop won't consider requests made outside their site or app, so anything sent to Splitit alone won't move your case forward.
The refund I received is less than I expected.
The merchant sets the refund amount, not Splitit. If you have questions about the amount, contact Whop or check your case notes in the Resolution Center.
My request was approved, but my plan hasn't changed.
Plan updates happen automatically once Whop notifies us of the decision. If it's been about a week since your refund was approved and your Splitit plan still hasn't updated, contact Splitit Support with a screenshot of the approval — that's the one thing we can help directly with.
I was denied and I've already appealed — now what?
If you've gone through the appeal and you're still stuck, reach out to Splitit Support and let us know. We'll take a look from there.
Screenshots for the Refund/Cancellation Procedure:
- Log in at https://whop.com/@me/settings/orders/ with the email you used at checkout.
You'll be asked to enter the code sent to your email
Select your purchase from the Orders tab
Find the purchase you want to refund.
Click Request a Refund.
Follow the steps on screen and include any helpful details.
Select the reason for your refund request (Note: this will also ensure you get your Splitit plan cancelled)
- Enter the details of your refund/plan cancellation request. Upload a file or image showing your attempt to communicate your request to the Creator or Merchant where you made your purchase.
⚠️ Important Notes
Whop will not consider refund/plan cancellation requests submitted outside their website/app. Requests must be initiated through your Whop account to be reviewed.
Splitit cannot process a refund for you, since all purchase records and refund controls are managed by Whop and the Creator.
Please ensure you’ve submitted your refund or plan cancellation request through Whop first.
