If you just created a Splitit installment plan using Samsung Wallet and noticed two or more entries on your credit card, don’t worry—this is expected. Here's what you're seeing and why:
💳 1. Authorization Hold(s) on Your Card
As soon as your plan is created, you may see one or two authorizations appear on your card:
- Authorization #1: The full purchase amount is held immediately to confirm available credit and secure your plan.
- Authorization #2: Once you accept an installment plan (within 24 hours after purchase), a second authorization is placed for the estimated interest amount.
- Note: you may see a 3rd authorization if you added a tip to your purchase.
These authorizations are not charges, but they do temporarily reduce your available credit.
- Holds typically disappear within 30 days or less, depending on your bank.
- If a transaction isn’t completed right away or the merchant requires extra time to finalize the total, the authorization may be re-authorized.
- If you have questions about the timing of any authorizations we recommend contacting your card issuer directly.
✅ 2. First Installment Charge
Your first installment is charged—usually within 48 hours of purchase.
- Future payments are automatically charged monthly or bi-weekly, on the same day each cycle (this date cannot be changed).
- These will appear on your statement as regular posted or settled charges.
🧾 Why Amounts May Vary Slightly
Some small differences between the plan selection screen and your statement are expected. Here’s why:
- Estimated interest amounts may fluctuate slightly based on your plan selection.
- Merchants may adjust the final amount after you tap to pay—such as adding a tip or taxes.
- When you authorize the transaction, you also pre-authorize any adjustments made by the merchant. This may result in an updated "Pay in Full" total even if you're using installments.
- These adjustments are normal and covered under your agreement with the merchant and Splitit.
📄 You’ll Receive Full Loan Terms
Once you accept a plan, you’ll receive a Truth In Lending Act (TILA) disclosure from Splitit including:
- Your APR and interest charges
- The amount financed
- Your full repayment schedule
